Unique textiles handwoven in Edinburgh

In a corner of Edinburgh by the water of Leith there is a creative little building called Coburg House. Up in the loft you’ll find the Loimi and Ko. studio. Filled with natural light, colourful yarns and fascinating equipment the studio in a place where textiles come to life, artwork is created and learning a craft is a shared experience.

Loimi and Ko. was established by Sarah Affleck in 2016 from her living room in Perth, Western Australia. After moving to the UK to complete her diploma in handweaving at the London Handweavers Studio she now calls Edinburgh home.

Sarah weaves with natural fibres such as wool, silk, cotton and linen. Most yarns are sustainably sourced from industry waste. Sarah’s handwoven designs have been exhibited throughout the UK and Europe in group exhibitions. Her upcoming project will feature at multiple exhibitions in Scotland in 2026.

Handweaving workshops are run at her Leith based studio.
